GreenBluff Harvest Festival
Chandler and I went on a pumpkin donut tasting adventure to GreenBluff last week. It's harvest festival time on the bluff and as always, it did not disappoint. As you might imagine, the pumpkin donuts were super tasty as well!Although life is altered because of Covid,...

Quebec at Christmastime
Colin and I just returned from a visit to Quebec where we got our fair share of Christmas inspiration and holiday cheer. It's such a beautiful old city with stunning architecture reflecting its French roots. Visiting Quebec during the holiday season is such a special...

About the Japanese Dollar Stores in the USA
We're lucky enough to have several Japanese dollar stores (Daiso) in the Seattle area of Washington State and visits there never disappoint. I'm always surprised that everyone doesn't know about these cutest shops and I thought it'd be fun to give you a peek...

Vintage Inspiration in Obidos, Portugal
Colin and I recently visited Obidos, Portugal and I found so much vintage inspiration in the little village that sits inside the castle walls and is truly trapped in time. I especially loved the vibrant accent colors like yellow and blue carried throughout the...

Monsanto, Portugal Day 8
If you've ever wondered if there's a storybook town that's like the pages of a children's book come to life, I always wondered that too. As a little girl, I was building that place - little villages out of twigs and bark and dreaming of the life I'd have one day. I...

Douro Valley & Aldeia das Dez, Portugal Day 7
We took a Sunday drive today, only it was Wednesday in Portugal. The road out of Geres heading towards the Douro Valley twisted and rolled down to the water and through the forest, through open farmland and little villages along the way then back up the mountain and...

Soajo & Geres National Park, Portugal Day 6
The one lane cobblestone road into Soajo gave us a hint of what was to come. Looking down at the valley below we could see hundreds of acres of terraced vineyards, farmland, and lovely little homes. We rounded the corner and were met by three wild horses on the street...

Porto, Portugal Day 5
We rolled into the second largest city in Portugal today, Porto, with just a few plans and the general thought of exploring. We discovered half its 2.3 million population might just be cruise ship passengers! We made our way through the crowds for long enough to take...

Nazare, Costa Nova, & Aveiro, Portugal Day 4
Colin has been wanting to go to Nazare and see the big waves everyone in the surfing world is talking about. This little village on Portugal's Silver Coast is home to some of the biggest waves in the world. You wouldn't have known it today because it was pretty calm...

IT'S ME, SERENA!
In 2002, I was dreaming of creating a fun and happy little event to sell my vintage and handmade goods. In 2002, I held my first event in my neighbor's barn along with a handful of friends. The sale became wildly popular and began attracting visitors from across the country and recognition in national magazines. Today The Farm Chicks Vintage & Handmade Fair fills the Spokane County Fairgrounds and features hundreds of creatively and carefully curated spaces packed with vintage and handmade goods. Many describe it as a bucket list event, magical, inspirational, and the best event of its kind in the USA. I describe it as the best weekend of the year!
