Recently I was talking about using simple everyday items around our home to add a pretty touch. Wrapping paper is one of my favorites for this because it’s inexpensive, I usually have it on hand, and it makes a big impact. Case in point: my new office.
Dust covers for my books! And you won’t believe how simple they are to make.
Cut wrapping paper to fit your book, leaving 2-3 inches on the left and right for folding in.
Then simply fold in sides, pulling tight for a snug fit, and softly crease into place. And you’re done!
Notes and Sources:
- I wrote the name of each book on the spine for easy reference.
- The cabinet knobs are from The Hardware Hut which is a multi-generational, local, family-owned business based in Spokane.
- My office chair is from Tin Roof Furniture which is a longtime, family-owned business in Spokane.
- All of the wrapping paper is from Target.
Stay-at-home mom, Serena Thompson, dreamed of creating a fun and happy little event to sell her vintage and handmade goods. In 2002, she and some friends held the first event in her neighbor’s barn. The sale became wildly popular and began attracting visitors from across the country and recognition in national magazines. Today the event fills the Spokane County Fairgrounds and features hundreds of creatively and carefully curated spaces filled with vintage and handmade goods. Many describe it as a bucket list event, magical, inspirational, and the best vintage & handmade fair in the country. Serena describes it as the happiest on earth.
