I’m always looking for fun ways to display our products at the show.  Last year, for one of The Farm Chicks pendant styles, I made paper cakes to display them on:

I took stick pinks and pushed them into the cake sides, and then hung the pendants on the pins.

To make the cakes, I took graduated circular pieces of white craft foam and covered each one with big sheets of craft paper, measured and cut to fit.  I hot-glued the paper on to each circle, and covered the edge seams with rick rack trim.  I then stacked the cake layers together and glue gunned into place, making sure to keep the paper seams all on the same side (the back).  I adhered the cakes to pretty cakestands with strong velcro squares, which were removable after the show.

IT'S ME, SERENA!

In 2002, I was dreaming of creating a fun and happy little event to sell my vintage and handmade goods. In 2002, I held my first event in my neighbor's barn along with a handful of friends. The sale became wildly popular and began attracting visitors from across the country and recognition in national magazines. Today The Farm Chicks Vintage & Handmade Fair fills the Spokane County Fairgrounds and features hundreds of creatively and carefully curated spaces packed with vintage and handmade goods. Many describe it as a bucket list event, magical, inspirational, and the best event of its kind in the USA. I describe it as the best weekend of the year!
