I thought you’d enjoy seeing more scenes from this year’s Farm Chicks Fair. I’m kind of hopping around in this post, but thought you’d enjoy these little bits and pieces.
I always like adding in some fun elements that go along with my theme, which was Home Sweet Homethis year. This large cross-stitch I did was quite an undertaking, but I made a bit easier by hand painting each X rather than stitching. It was really fun to see loads of people taking their pictures in front of it.
The 2017 shirts were bright and happy!
Lisa Souersalways has such a crazy mix of super awesome elements along with her jewelry, furniture, and found objects.
Jennifer and Kathy, the mother and daughter team of Unexpected Necessities. They’ve been Farm Chicks for many years now and it’s so special to see mom and daughter creating beautiful things together.
Found‘s backdrop was really great. It completely made everything in their booth stand out so well!
Black Sheep Flea‘s space is always filled with layer upon layer of objects, foliage, flowers, etc. Always so creative!
I always let the Curators know what the theme is for the show each year well in advance so if they want to include the theme in their space, they have plenty of time to plan for it. It was fun to see different ways it was brought in, like this house with white picket fence by Shelly Dolen:
and little houses and doll elements throughout the show, possibly inspired by this year’s dollhouse poster.
The Flower Bar had flower crowns and fresh flowers for purchase.

Katie of Vintage Farmstead did such a lovely job of bringing in live elements into her space. That addition adds so much warmth.
A great find in Mary’s Like Mother Like Daughter space. It’s hard to see in this picture, but Craig and Mary completely took the color in each room in the dollhouse featured on my poster, and brought them into each “cubby room” in their space. I’m so thankful for the amount of time each Curator takes to add their special touch and inspiration into what they bring to Farm Chicks.
No space is wasted in Renee’s Raising the Bar‘s space!

IT'S ME, SERENA!
In 2002, I was dreaming of creating a fun and happy little event to sell my vintage and handmade goods. In 2002, I held my first event in my neighbor's barn along with a handful of friends. The sale became wildly popular and began attracting visitors from across the country and recognition in national magazines. Today The Farm Chicks Vintage & Handmade Fair fills the Spokane County Fairgrounds and features hundreds of creatively and carefully curated spaces packed with vintage and handmade goods. Many describe it as a bucket list event, magical, inspirational, and the best event of its kind in the USA. I describe it as the best weekend of the year!
