Colin surprised me with a hiking trip to Canada for my birthday and it was one of the prettiest getaways. The trip started with a helicopter ride out of Golden, British Columbia and directly to the Purcell Mountain Lodge. We arrived around 8am to a lovely breakfast spread followed by a little walk around the meadow and some beautiful views.

What followed over the next few days was a mix of relaxation (reading books, visiting on the deck while watching the hummingbirds, visiting with new Canadian friends), delicious food made by the lodge's chef, Grace, and some really pretty hikes.

Although we were in the Purcell Mountains, I will fondly remember it as wildflower mountain, brimming with the most beautiful blooms, chilling fresh mountain stream water, and happy meadow trails.

MEET SERENA!

Stay-at-home mom, Serena Thompson, dreamed of creating a fun and happy little event to sell her vintage and handmade goods. In 2002, she and some friends held the first event in her neighbor’s barn. The sale became wildly popular and began attracting visitors from across the country and recognition in national magazines. Today the event fills the Spokane County Fairgrounds and features hundreds of creatively and carefully curated spaces filled with vintage and handmade goods. Many describe it as a bucket list event, magical, inspirational, and the best vintage & handmade fair in the country. Serena describes it as the happiest on earth.
