My friend, Jenny, and I were talking about it’d be fun to participate in The Farm Chicks Fair again this year. Last year she did a couple of book signings and it was really fun to have her. So I put on my thinking cap and thought it’d be so great to invite her to be the hostess for The Farm Chicks Pre-Show Party! And Anthropologie in downtown Spokane was on board to hold the party at their store, so it was perfect. My new friends, Amanda, Sara, Lesley, and Ashley joined in as special featured guests. We welcomed 150 guests and had such a great time.

My friend Shawn taught everyone to make their own fresh flower crowns and they were beautiful. Her Flower Bar. Co.shop in Coeur d’Alene is my favorite.

In 2002, I was dreaming of creating a fun and happy little event to sell my vintage and handmade goods. In 2002, I held my first event in my neighbor's barn along with a handful of friends. The sale became wildly popular and began attracting visitors from across the country and recognition in national magazines. Today The Farm Chicks Vintage & Handmade Fair fills the Spokane County Fairgrounds and features hundreds of creatively and carefully curated spaces packed with vintage and handmade goods. Many describe it as a bucket list event, magical, inspirational, and the best event of its kind in the USA. I describe it as the best weekend of the year!
