KATE'S College APARTMENT STYLE
My favorite part about living on my own now is the decorating. I remember when I realized that I would rather spend my money on a funky pillowcase or vintage lamp shade than clothing. Decorating your home is like dressing yourself - you can’t let people see it bare. Give it the same style and pizzazz that you dress in, with a vintage flair, of course. When decorating vintage, create a color palette first, then stick to those colors when shopping. If you see an inexpensive object that fits your palette, but can’t imagine a use for it, buy it and store it until you can re-imagine it. Bottom line: Always buy what you love and never pass up a great deal! ~Kate
TIPS:
- Glass dishes make fashionable (and inexpensive) makeup holders.
- Start collections that you love, then display in groupings.
- Vintage accessories are eye-candy! Display when not in use.
- Top sheets can double as decorative pillow covers when pulled over the top.
