CANNING JAR VOTIVES

We created these simple little votives as an easy way of adding a little light and seasonal color at the same time. We’ve used squatty old canning jars and lentils, which are in abundant supply in our area. Many different fillers can be used such as beans, salt, or gravel. Simply pour filler in to desired level and place a votive candle inside.

TIPS:

• Make sure to use only non-flammable fillers.
• Old canning jars are plentiful at thrift shops.
• For a children’s Halloween party, we used beluga lentils (black) and red lentils (orange).
